The Shadow AI Amnesty Survey

Your team is using AI. You just do not know which tools, on whose account, or what has been pasted into them.

Asking directly rarely works. People hear the question as an accusation, so they either say no or give you the answer they think you want. Then you make decisions on a picture that is not real.

This is an amnesty survey. Ten questions, written so people answer honestly because there is nothing to defend. Send it round, give them a week, and you finally know what you are actually working with.

- Which tools are in use, from ChatGPT and Copilot to note-takers and browser add-ons

- How often, and for what kind of work

- Whether client data is going anywhere near them

- Which tools you approved and which people picked themselves

- What your team wants to use next, and what is worrying them

The wording is the hard part and it is already done. Change the firm name and send it.
